강외산 몽골인문대학교(UHM=University of the Humanities in Mongolia) 교수(본지 몽골 특파원 겸 KBS 몽골 주재 해외 통신원)가, 기존의 중앙아시아태권도연맹(CATU=Central Asia Taekwondo Union)을 모체로 해, 12월 3일 토요일 정오 12시, 서울 경남관광호텔에서 창립식을 갖고 공식 출범을 완료한, 국제 다문화 스포츠 협회(IMSF=International Multicultural Sports Federation) 초대 국제협력 이사로 선임됐다.

신설된, 국제 다문화 스포츠 협회(IMSF=International Multicultural Sports Federation)에서의 강외산 교수 초대 국제협력 이사 선임은 개인적인 영광이긴 하나, 다른 한편으로는, 몽골 태권도계의 영향력이 그만큼 지구촌 스포츠 커뮤니티에서 신장됐다는 반증이며, 국제 다문화 스포츠 협회(IMSF=International Multicultural Sports Federation)라는 신설 조직 내에서, 굳건히 유지돼 신뢰받고 있다는 명백한 증거 사례라 할 것이다.

강외산 교수는 한-몽골 수교가 이루어진 지난 1990년대부터, 당시 재직 중이던 몽골국립외국어대학교에서 몽골 대학생들에게 WTF(세계태권도연맹, 총재 조정원) 태권도를 직접 가르침으로써, 대한민국의 국기 태권도를 몽골 대학 캠퍼스 내에 심고, 지난 세월 동안 몽골 태권도 진흥 및 몽골태권도협회(MTF=Mongolian Taekwondo Federation, 회장 데. 엥흐바트=D. Enkhbat)의 국제화에 힘써 온 바 있다.

아무쪼록, 새롭게 공식 출범한 국제 다문화 스포츠 협회(IMSF=International Multicultural Sports Federation)와 몽골태권도협회(Mongolian Taekwondo Federation)의 향후의 무궁한 발전을 기원하는 마음 간절하다.

Alex Kang was appointed as Inaugural IMSF Director of International Cooperation
On December 03, 2016, Prof. Alex Kang was appointed as inaugural Director of International Cooperation of the International Multicultural Sports Federation (IMSF) newly created on the same day in Seoul .

The inaugural IMSF Director of International Cooperation and the 6th Taekwondo Dan Black Belt Holder born in Daejeon city, Korea, Prof. Kang is the professor of Korean Studies at the University of the Humanities in Mongolia (UHM) and is the one of the Taekwondoists, who has consistently contributed to the promotion of the WTF Taekwondo in Mongolia from its early stage since the establishment of the Mongolian Taekwondo WTF Federation in 1991.
