| 【Seoul(Korea)=Break News GW】 지난 9월, 2016년 제3차 고단자(6단 이상) 승단 심사 응심을 통해, 국기원 공인 태권도 6단 (The 6th Taekwondo Dan Black Belt Holder) 획득에 멋지게 성공했던, 강외산 몽골인문대학교(UHM=University of the Humanities in Mongolia) 교수가, 10월 9일 한글날 570돌을 맞아, 서울 현지에서, 마침내, 국기원 공인 태권도 고단자 단증 수령을 완료했다.
강외산 몽골인문대학교(UHM=University of the Humanities in Mongolia) 교수의, 서울 현지에서의 국기원 공인 태권도 6단 (The 6th Taekwondo Dan Black Belt Holder) 수령은, 재외동포언론인협회(OKJA=Overseas Korean Journalists Association, 회장 김소영 캐나다 밴쿠버 중앙일보 대표) 주최 제6회 2016 가을철 재외동포언론인 국제 심포지엄(The 6th 2016 Overseas Korean Journalists Annual Autumn Symposium) 참가 차 짧은 고국 방문에 나선 김에, 이뤄졌다.
국기원은, 해외에 거주 중인 국기원 공인 고단자(6단 이상) 승단 응심과 관련해, 국기원 규정 제7조 4항에 "해외 거주 7단 이하 응심자에 대해 당원에서는 지역 및 국가별로 심사 위원을 출장, 현지 고단자와 합동으로 심사를 실시할 수 있다"로 명시했으며, 제7조 1항 나목에는 "태권도 고단자(6단 이상) 응심자는 실기와 이론 (필답, 논문) 심사를 병행, 시행한다. 단, 해외 응심자의 실기는 본원에서 인정하는 지도 사범 또는 국가 협회 추천으로 하고, 이론 심사는 논문(한글, 영어, 프랑스어, 독일어, 스페인어)으로 대체하며, 논문은 A4 용지 10매 이상을 (논제는 별도 선정) 작성하여 승단 심사 신청서와 같이 제출하여야 한다”로 명시해, 공인 고단자(6단 이상) 응심 관련 승품-단 심사 규정을 명확하게 밝혀 놓고 있다.
외국에 거주하는 관계로 승단 응심의 어려움이 있었다고는 하나, 이것은 어쨌든 이솝 우화(Aesop's fables)에 등장하는 '신 포도(Sour Grapes)' 식의 핑계이며, 결국, 허무한 결과론임을 그저 뼈아프게 자책(自責)할 뿐이다. 요컨대, 지구촌 각국 태권도 수련자 그 누구가 됐든, 태권도 이외의 생업에 바빠, 태권도 승단 심사 응심(6단 이상의 고단자 승단 정기 심사는 1년에 봄, 여름, 가을, 겨울 등 단 4회만 실시된다)을 자칫 등한시하다 보면, 유감스럽긴 하나, 이렇듯, 아쉽게도 고단자 반열 등극에 남들보다 뒤쳐지게 된다. 따라서, 지구촌 각국 태권도 수련자들에게는 끊임없는 수련과 견인불발의 도전 의식이 더욱 요구된다 할 것이다. ☞강외산 교수 체육 부문 활동 ▲현재 국기원(WTH) 공인 태권도 6단

Alex Kang achieved his 6th Taekwondo Dan On September 14, 2016, Prof. Alex Kang achieved officially his 6th Taekwondo Dan (sixth degree black belt) in the 2016 Kukkiwon Dan Promotion Test held in Seoul on September 3, 2016.
He is the one of the Taekwondoists who has consistently contributed to the promotion of the WTF Taekwondo in Mongolia from its early stage since the establishment of the WTF Mongolian Taekwondo Federation in 1991.
He is the professor of Korean Studies at the University of the Humanities in Mongolia (UHM). The 6th Taekwondo Dan Black Belt Holder born in Daejeon city, Korea, Prof. Kang successfully demonstrated his mature Taekwondo abilities regarding five(5) evaluation requirements such as Taekwondo basic techniques, Poomsae(Pattern), One-on One Sparring, Board Breaking, and Thesis titled 'Role of Taekwondo as a Means of Public Diplomacy and Attitude of Taekwondo Leader'.
In Taekwondo, a color belt or a black belt is given out to represent the skill level of each practitioner. There are 10 belt ranking structure known as a “Gup” starting at 10th Gup white belt and ending at 1st Gup red belt. Upon entering the rank of black belt, the term is then known as “Dan”, starting at 1st Dan black belt and ending at 9th Dan black belt.
